GMS Institute

The public guardian of signals research.

The Institute develops, validates and distributes the evidence base that makes GMS signals credible, standardised and independently trusted. From IP development to market partnerships, certification to public impact - this is where the rigour lives.

Our mandate

Nine workstreams. One public mission.

The Institute exists to ensure GMS signals remain the most credible, useful and independently verified perception data in the market. Its work spans research, standards, education, partnerships and responsible AI deployment.

Research & IP

Signal evidence and IP development

Developing signal evidence, publishing results and iterating new release versions of the GMS IP and its associated tooling.

Education

Training and capability building

Establishing channels for training and education to build capability in industry over time - delivered through partner networks.

Standards

Practitioner certification

Overseeing standards for certification of practitioners to maintain and improve ecosystem benefits - internal and external.

Benchmarks

Common language for industry

Developing benchmarks to aid the deployment of SRS as a common language with practitioners, in partnership with industry bodies.

Academic

Academic collaboration

Collaborating with academic partners to produce and publish new data sets that advance the field of perception-led market intelligence.

Public impact

Public awareness measurement

Measuring and publishing levels of public education, awareness and behavioural change relating to key societal issues - and their impact on industry, society and humanity.

Scale

Research network fulfilment

Organising fulfilment of orders for GMS data products at scale through its research networks and global partner ecosystem.

Economics

Data empowerment products

Integrating signals into the fundamentals of global economics through investment, measurement and data empowerment products that democratise access to perception intelligence.

AI-first

Responsible AI deployment

Accelerating the mission with an agentic-first approach to research, strategy, operations and measurement - taking a leading role in responsible-first AI for business.

Institute publication

Catalyst: publishing the demand signals

Catalyst is the Institute's consumer and media-facing campaign - a content agenda covering social license, public demand and the forces that reshape how society views industry. From SDG awareness to major environmental issues, Catalyst gives changemakers, educators, academics and impact innovators the evidence they need to act.

Credibility firewall in effect

All Catalyst content carries an Institute byline as the primary credential. Commercial sponsorship is always identified separately below editorial - never merged into the Institute attribution.

Methodology, in brief

One framework. Any organisation. Every market.

The SRS methodology is a defined framework for measuring sustainability perception, applied consistently across markets and time. Weighting is transparent and versioned. Updates follow a documented release cycle.

The full methodology paper is available on request. Academic and research enquiries are welcome.
